SARAN 540-CX Vapor Retarder Film is composed of a film of the barrier polymer polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC). To provide strength and support, other specialty polymers were coextreded together. The portions of the coextruded film create a vapor retarder and jacket material for mechanical insulation systems, that we know to be flexible and durable. The design of SARAN 540-CX Vapor Retarder Film is to help prevent water absorption, powerfully resist moisture vapor drive into the insulation, and is not a known nutrient source for mold or mildew.


A permeance rating of 0.02 perms meets or exceeds standard industry requirements for vapor retarders in cold service.
